Are you having trouble getting rid of your unsightly double-chin? Kybella® might be for you! Kybella® has quickly become the most popular non-surgical procedures to treat submental fat, known as a “double-chin”. For those patients looking for a non-surgical means of getting rid of loose, hanging, submental fat, ask us about Kybella® today.
What is Kybella®?
Kybella® is a non-surgical injectable treatment, meant to eliminate fat cells below the chin. Alleviating submental fat and that dreaded double-chin. For many of us the double-chin is highly resistant to diet or exercise, therefore Kybella® can be your best option to improve your facial profile and eliminate unwanted chin fat.
How does Kybella® work?
During your consultation we will determine if you are a good candidate for correction using Kybella®. The procedure is fairly straightforward, as our on-site physician will mark the proper treatment spots for the injection and inject the Kybella® solution. Once it is injected, you may feel a burning or tingling sensation, which is completely normal and should pass within a few minutes.
The Kybella® solution contains acids identical to the deoxycholic acid in your body. Deoxycholic acid is meant to destroy fat cells. Kybella® acts in the same way, directing your fat cells to undergo “cellular death”, eliminating them completely, as they are flushed out by your body’s immune system, insuring they will not return.
Kybella® May Be Right for You if:
You are bothered by the presence of your double-chin, and diet & exercise have not worked for your submental fat.
You are in a healthy weight range for your age and height.
You have good skin laxity; skin that isn’t overly loose, or hanging.
You prefer a non-surgical alternative to losing your submental fat.
What to Expect from Kybella®?
Kybella® is the safest, minimally-invasive method of reducing submental chin fat, and alleviating patients of their double-chin.
Despite the relatively simple procedure, Kybella® does require some minor downtime for recovery. The procedure takes about an hour to complete, and some patients should expect minor swelling or bruising, for up to a week after (most swelling will subside within the first 48 hours). Our physicians recommend that patients:
Stay Hydrated, before and after the procedure.
Avoid salt and alcohol, before and after the procedure to reduce chances of swelling.
Apply ice to the treatment area for the first few hours after completion.
